The Ministry of Rural Development (KPLB) is a Ministry responsible for rural development in line with the Malaysian government's initiative in addressing poverty, improving the quality of life and well-being of the rural community.
Various programs have been implemented by the Ministry to improve the lives of rural people as well as improve the socioeconomic level such as Rural Electricity Supply Program (BELB), Village Road Lighting Program (LJK), Rural Water Supply Program (BALB), Rural Road Project ( JALB), the Rural Roads Program (JPD) and the Social Amenities Program (PAMS).
Thus, in an effort to reduce the poverty rate of rural people, KPLB has implemented the New Poor and Reconstruction Poor Housing Program (PPRT). This is in line with the mission to improve the overall quality of life for the rural community. KPLB also conducts human capital development programs such as the provision of leadership programs, enhancement of pre-school education and early childhood education.
In balancing economic growth between the urban and rural communities, particularly the B40 group, KPLB has also strengthened the rural economy through organizing various programs such as entrepreneurship training, product sales and sales as well as investment in strategic business opportunities to enable entrepreneurs to achieve higher returns. contributing to the improvement of the rural economy in particular and the Country in general.
