Ministry of Tourism and Air Transport (Ministere du Tourisme et des Transports aeriens) (MTTA) (Senegal)

Under the authority of the Prime Minister, the Minister of Tourism and Air Transport prepares and implements the policy defined by the Head of State in the fields of Tourism and Air Transport. In terms of Tourism:  it prepares and applies the legislation and regulations relating to the tourist and hotel professions and activities. it promotes the supervision of tourism and ensures its promotion, development and diversification. He promotes Senegal abroad as a tourist destination. In particular, it encourages business tourism and luxury tourism. it promotes the tourism industry. For Air Transport:  it controls air transport and oversees their development and security with a view to both their competitiveness and the fulfillment of public service missions. He is responsible for the proper functioning of all airport infrastructure. he represents the State in international air transport bodies. it prepares social regulations in the air transport sector and monitors social issues in the sector. it is responsible for setting up airport infrastructure in the national space. he watches over their quality. It ensures the consistency of airport infrastructure and equipment networks for better quality of service. it draws up the technical rules relating to the construction of buildings and civil engineering works in airport matters and ensures their application. it exercises technical supervision of companies and establishments with public participation placed under its responsibility.
