National Institute for Popular and Solidary Economy (Instituto Nacional de Economia Popular y Solidaria) (IEPS)
In 2009, the National Institute of the Popular and Solidarity Economy (IEPS) was created within the Ministry of Economic and Social Inclusion. In 2011, the law of Popular and Solidarity Economy was promulgated, in which the term association and its functions are defined.
One of the basic principles of the Popular and Solidarity Economy is the equitable and solidary distribution of surpluses.
Foment and promote the people and organizations subject to the Organic Law of the Popular Solidarity Economy, in the context of the social and solidarity economic system provided for in the Constitution of the Republic and consistent with the National Development Plan, subject to the dictated policies by the Interinstitutional Committee.
Build the Social, Economic and Solidarity System of Ecuador with the leadership of the EPS actors, made visible and included in transforming public policies, developing production processes based on solidarity, cooperation and reciprocity, that privilege work and the human being as subject and end of its activity, oriented to the good living of the country, in harmony with nature.See more
