The Tunisian Institute for the Rehabilitation of Survivors of Torture "NEBRAS" is a Tunisian non-profit association (according to the described law 88-2011) founded in 2014 and which aims to promote the rehabilitation of survivors of torture in through a specialized institute "NEBRAS".
The victim care center is located at 22, rue Hassen Ibn Nooman, Belvedere in Tunis. The first institute for the rehabilitation of survivors of torture in Tunisia, was officially inaugurated on December 05, 2014, during this opening ceremony marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Health.
The NEBRAS Institute has been operating since January 2015. It is at the same time a state-of-the-art center for the care of victims of psycho-traumatisms and referral to other partner institutions. It is also an academic player for the continuing education of health professionals and the promotion of research and field studies, in cooperation with universities. Observations and studies aim to develop a broad clinical model, taking into account Tunisian and regional specificities.
