The New Forests Company is a sustainable, socially responsible forestry and timber products business with plantations in Uganda, Rwanda and Tanzania
Whilst they are still a young company, NFC has already demonstrated a strong track record of rapidly growing revenues of tens of millions of dollars; employs over 2 230 people in East Africa – often in the rural areas where employment is needed the most – and has almost 30 000 hectares of planted forests.
The majority of their plantations are Forest Stewardship Council™ (FSC™) certified meaning they voluntarily comply with the international gold standard of responsible forest management.
They specialize in the production of:
Poles – transmission, telephone, building and fencing poles;
Structural sawn timber;
Renewable energy (biomass converted into energy).
