Norway for You
Royal Norwegian Embassy in Serbia continues to provide support to development of Serbia through the new project “Norway for You – Serbia”.
The overall objective of the Project is to contribute to a more balanced socio-economic development in Serbia, as stated today in Šid during the signing of the Contract on cooperation between the Royal Norwegian Embassy and the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) which will implement the Project. The signing ceremony was attended by the Minister of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Mr Zoran Đorđević.
The “Norway for You” project will encompass 91 local self-governments in Serbia and will be focussed on improving social inclusion, economic empowerment of vulnerable population, as well as on increasing quality of life of the people in the less developed municipalities through improvement of local infrastructure.
Michela Telatin, UNOPS Serbia Head of Office, stated, “We are grateful to the Government of Norway not only for supporting this project, but for contributing to positive changes in lives of people in Serbia. This project will support the most vulnerable groups of people in need of employment and social services, which are mutual goals of the Governments of Serbia and Norway and UNOPS, and an opportunity to strengthen our successful cooperation so far.”
“Fundamental task of the Government of Serbia is to better the lives of our people, while the project we are jointly working on with the Government of Norway and UNOPS aims to create new employment opportunities and equal possibilities for all out citizens, with particular attention devoted to vulnerable groups, so that they could have social stability and permanent employment”, stated the Minister of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Mr Zoran Djordjevic.See more
