Piedmont Environmental Alliance

In 2005, a small group of friends joined together to host a family-friendly Earth Day celebration in Winston-Salem. The first Piedmont Earth Day Fair was so successful that the fair's organizing committee formed Piedmont Environmental Alliance, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to educating the Piedmont Triad community on environmental issues. During the following decade, PEA has grown the Piedmont Earth Day Fair into the largest one-day environmental education event in the region and become a leading regional source for information and inspiration on the environment. PEA brings together people, organizations, businesses, schools, and government agencies toward the common goal of building a more environmentally sustainable community. Today, PEA is an established and growing presence in the community, with innovative, high-impact programs and dynamic, engaging events. A mission to support the environment Piedmont Environmental Alliance inspires people to make choices that protect and restore the environment. Dynamic education programs Their youth education programs inspire young people in the Piedmont Triad to become the activists, environmentalists, and scientists who will solve the complex issues facing the planet. Exciting community engagement and events Their Earth Day Fair is THE event for celebrating sustainability and green living in the region, with great food and music, activities for adults and kids, and wonderful exhibitors and sponsors. Robust partnerships They work with organizations, corporations, individuals, and communities across the region in support of a more sustainable Piedmont.
