As a brownfield developer, PSR's core business is taking over contaminated property, including all liabilities linked to the redevelopment of brownfield sites. Brownfield development, however, encompasses much more than just environmental risks. Difficulties with respect to environmental planning, legal and financial liabilities and potential claims or regular property risks turn a brownfield development into a multidisciplinary process in which the integration of various areas of expertise is crucial.
PSR Brownfield Developers was founded in 1999 and is now part of Jan De Nul Group. As one of the first private developers in Belgium, they specialized in acquiring, redeveloping, reallocating and redeveloping brownfields. The successful
reallocation of a few complex Ghent and Vilvoord sites laid the foundations of their current expertise and integrated project approach.
Two decades later, PSR acts as manager for the redevelopment of some fifteen ongoing projects spread over a large region: from Kortrijk, Izegem and Ghent, to Boom, Lier, Machelen and Vilvoorde - for a total surface area of 30 hectares. A brownfield covenant was concluded with the Flemish Government for 12 projects.
