The ESRA Psychosocial Centre offers comprehensive professional help to people who have been traumatised as a result of persecution, torture, migration, abuse, disasters or other serious events. It provides a variety of services in the fields of medicine, psychiatry, psychotherapy, psychology, care and social work with a view to helping people to deal with the psychological consequences of traumatic events and to provide them with new perspectives. One of its focuses is work with survivors, regardless of religion, ethnic group, political conviction or sexual orientation, of the Nazi regime and their descendants and relatives. ESRA is also a contact point in all psychosocial questions for Jewish people living in Vienna.
The multiprofessional team operates in an interdisciplinary, targeted and multilingual manner. Through cooperation with other organisations and institutions they can also offer professional assistance to trauma victims outside Vienna. All their services are free of charge or available through presentation of an e-card.
In the light of their long experience of psycho-trauma, they also consider it important to provide information to the public about the psychosocial consequences of Nazi, Fascist or other tyrannical regimes.
