Real Action on the Environment, Children and Youth (L’Action Réelle sur l’Environnement, l’enfance et la Jeunesse) (AREJ)
Real Action on the Environment, Children and Youth (AREJ) is a Togolese association created in 1999 (at the time under the name of CD2A ) in Cinkassé, in the North of Togo, by Jacques NAMETOUGLI who wished to work in favor of poor and abandoned youth. AREJ is a socio-economic development company that offers young people in difficulty vocational training for better integration in rural areas. She specializes in the revaluation of exhausted land and in the social integration of young people in difficulty. Based on the educational system of Jean Bosco, it aims to awaken rural populations to the possibilities of success in their environment. Its training center operates on the principle of demonstration.
In 2014, AREJ invested in raising awareness among producers in its region and created the Agro-bio-Savanes cooperative covering the 5 prefectures of the Savannah region in Togo, in order to popularize agro-ecology and the preservation of peasant seeds. Its objective is therefore to promote ecological agriculture in the Savannah region and throughout Togo through awareness-raising, training and the transmission of know-how and of the agroecological approach.See more
