Red Nacional de Grupos Gestores
Red Nacional de Grupos Gestores is a social movement that promotes local economic development and competitiveness from the territories, in order to improve the quality of life of the Guatemalan population.
In 1996, the first Grupo Gestor was created in the municipality of Quetzaltenango as a result of the partnership between business leaders of the town and municipal authorities, with the aim of improving the economic conditions of the municipality and thereby contributing to improving the standard of living of the municipality. population, especially to counteract the high emigration.
As the actions promoted by this first Group advance, leaders of other municipalities and neighboring departments invite the Quetzaltenango Management Group to share their experience, thus beginning the formation of new Management Groups in the area.
With the emergence of more Management Groups not only in the western part of the country, but also in the area of the Verapaces, in 2002 it was decided to create an organization that would agglutinate, coordinate and represent them, thus giving life to the National Network of Management Groups.
