Roma Multiservizi works for the development and enhancement of the territory, the protection of the environment and cultural heritage and in compliance with the principle of utility to the community. The interventions implemented by the company are aimed at guaranteeing standards of hygiene, safety and practicability, however, deemed to be of public interest.
The services provided by Roma Multiservizi in addition to their economic value are oriented towards producing social value for the community in which they operate, with the aim of combining business growth and an increase in the livability of the city.
Roma Multiservizi was founded in 1994 on the initiative of the Municipality of Rome with the aim of guaranteeing maximum efficiency in hygiene services and small maintenance in municipal, nursery and primary schools. The Company is characterized by the prevalence of public capital with an initial meeting of the Shareholders in which the Municipality of Rome, Gepi, and Ama sit.
With the birth of Roma Multiservizi, the Municipality of Rome manages to combine two complementary needs: on the one hand to make the hygiene and decorum service efficient in schools and on the other to reintegrate workers on the move and long-term unemployed into socially useful activities. In 1999 Multiservice Rome welcomes in its shareholder base, as an industrial partner, the Rekeep and La Veneta Services, both leading companies in Italy in the field of facility management.
A second important moment in the company history coincides with the extension of the 2004 company statute. On that occasion, the areas of intervention of Roma Multiservizi widened, strengthening its ability to offer itself on the private market. At the same time, the Company includes in its statute the Governance Code prepared by the Municipality of Rome to direct the investee companies.
