SBI INTERNATIONAL HOLDINGS AG, begun its activities in Guatemala on the year 1,981, under the name of SOLEL BONEH INTERNATIONAL LTD. Enrolling in the construction of the first phase of Nimajuyú Housing Project, building 3,456 apartments in 22.5 modules. After performing this project, in 1986 the first phase of the Wholesale Center Market (CENMA) was done. Road construction begun on 1988, the first road built was CA-9 Norte, stretch Rio Hondo – Santo Tomás de Castilla. (170 Km.) Since that date 1,900 kilometers of road have been constructed all throughout the country, without taking into account the Project Franja Transversal del Norte, (Northern Transversal Strip) which constitutes 30% of the asphalt roads existent in Guatemala; such project has been performed by integrating 53 work fronts of diverse lengths. Their main client has been the Ministry of Communications, Infrastructure and Housing. Other clients are: Basic Resources International Limited, and some Municipalities that have required their services. Throughout these years, they have executed road contracts for an amount of $600, 000,000.00; they are actually constructing Franja Transversal del Norte. In 1996 the Department of Telecommunications was created and in 1997 the first Project of this type was developed which consisted in Setting up the network of approximately 65,000 telephonic pairs for the Telgua Project of 210,000 lines, such project was developed in a 12 month term, at 11 different sites of the Guatemalan Republic. On 1998 at Belice the Project of 500 lines with wireless systems, active at 4 sites within this country, was executed. Innowave equipment was used in the project’s performance. On the year 2000 a subsidiary at El Salvador was created for the execution of 22 Kms. of the road San Martín – Cedros. In this Project earthworks for the quantity of 6 million cubic meters of soil and 1 million m3 of rock were executed. On 2001 Solel Boneh Guatemala, S.A., subsidiary of SBI International Holdings was created, which has contributed to the energetic development of the country with 5 hydroelectric projects of great scope. On the year 2003 the first Project of water treatment was executed when performing the System of Sanitary Sewer and Drinkable Water for Santa Elena, San Benito and Isla de Flores at Petén. On 2005 they enrolled at Costa Rica, opening a new subsidiary under the name of SOLEL BONEH COSTA RICA, S.A., in which the project of setting up the network of Optical Fiber Cable Frontera – Frontera (Frontier-Frontier) was executed. Such cabling is formed by 6 fiber rings, (1,200 Km) and connects all ICE stations. The company performed the design, the construction of the conduit (640 Km.), cable incorporation, connections and commissioning. For this project singlemode cable of 48 fibers, hybrid with 12 fibers specification G.652 and 36 fibers G.655, was used. Enabling the installation of DWDM technology equipment. On the year 2010 the Bid for the construction of the project Franja Transversal del Norte was awarded, which comprises the construction of 335.73 Km of asphalt road with 2 lanes, 28 bridges and 23 vaults. Due to the great scope of the Project the company SOLEL BONEH FTN, S.A. was created. This project is currently in maintenance phase.
