Social Venture Partners (SVP) is a global network of local partners aligning passion and purpose. SVP helps individuals amplify their giving, funds and strengthens nonprofits and equips their communities to tackle their greatest social challenges – together. The SVP Network Office serves as a hub for information, guidance and connection. They provide tools, resources and counsel so that SVP network member organizations can focus on their purpose They also work with people to help establish SVP in their communities.  The movement took off in 1997 because it offered a unique opportunity for people to come together and make a difference in their communities.  The SVP network is now 3000+ people strong, in 36 cities in the U.S., Australia, Canada, China, India and Japan. Together, they have worked with more than 600 nonprofits and contributed more than $50 million (US) and hundreds of thousands of hours of skilled, strategic support. They are people for whom improving their community is part of their life’s journey.   They are volunteers, parents, community leaders, corporate execs, philanthropists – a global network of local partners connecting passion and purpose. They see the chasm between the challenges they face today as a society, and the scale at which they are engaging those challenges. And they are ready to cross that chasm. Together.  They believe that nothing truly great is accomplished alone. Every person in their network has something to teach and something to learn. They are never satisfied, never settled. They know they have more to give, and that more needs to be done. Most importantly, they believe it can be. Where others see insurmountable problems, they see potential. Mission: SVP cultivates effective philanthropists, strengthens nonprofits, and invests in collaborative solutions – building powerful relationships to tackle their communities’ social challenges. Vision: They aim to build a global movement of partners working in their communities to create a world where all people have the opportunity to lead productive and meaningful lives.
