The National Society for the Development of Rural Businesses and Areas (SONDEAR), is a civil society organization that started operations on June 7, 1995, as a result of the concerns and sensitivity of a group of professionals from various disciplines. , in the face of the dramatic poverty conditions of large sectors of the population, residents of rural and suburban areas, dependent on agricultural production; the growing deterioration of environmental conditions and natural resources; the socioeconomic and territorial disparities of the country, which required the development of human, local and community capacities to be resolved.
These professionals adopted the commitment and founding foundational purpose, to work to improve the economic and social welfare of these low-income people in the country and promote mechanisms to reduce structural gaps that perpetuate the inequality in the distribution of income and factors of production in the rural-agricultural sector, within approaches of human capacity development and sustainable development.
