SEADEC provides services to recently arrived refugees in Central Ohio to enable the refugee to attain economic self sufficiency and to integrate into the community. SEADEC helps refugees prepare for employment and has placed hundreds of refugees in jobs. SEADEC collaborates with other refugee resettlement agencies in a community information and media project, a victims of torture project and an access to health care program. SEADEC meets the needs of youth by sponsoring recreation programs, providing tutoring and assisting with summer school programs. SEADEC has developed programs for militia demobilization and resettlement of internally displaced people to be implemented in Somalia.
