Overview

Stepping Stones for Families' vision is that all children and young people have an enjoyable life in a healthy, fair and safe environment where they are respected and supported to achieve their full potential. For nearly thirty years, Stepping Stones for Families has worked alongside children, young people and families to give them support, opportunities and a voice in tackling the effects of poverty and disadvantage in their lives. The aspiration is to be an organisation that makes a positive lasting difference to families, young people and communities. Headquartered in Paisley, they pride themselves on ensuring that the vast majority of the income is spent on delivering services. Continually assessing the performance so that they can adapt to a rapidly changing world is at the heart of the work, and they have been recognised by Investors in People since 2000. The services are consistently graded in the “very good” and “excellent” categories by the Care Inspectorate and SSfF is also an accredited Living Wage Employer. The 2000+ service users are at the core of the programmes and governance. People accessing the services can become members of Stepping Stones for Families, and this enables them to table motions at the Annual General Meeting, vote in the election of board directors, and have a say in how they deliver services. They are committed to transparency and engagement with the stakeholders. Stepping Stones for Families is an award-winning charity that has been recognised by Healthy Working Lives, Scotland’s Health at Work, the Scottish Qualifications Authority and the Renfrewshire Chamber of Commerce.
