Supporting Our Youth (SOY)
Supporting Our Youth (SOY) is an innovative community development program of Sherbourne Health. SOY works to support the health and well-being of all queer and trans spectrum youth 29 years old and under through their groups, programs and events and by providing one-on-one support.
As an LGBT2SQ youth or young adult, you are resourceful and important. You are the expert of your own life and have found ways to survive if not thrive. Are you looking for extra support as you imagine your future? Supporting Our Youth is designed to support you to restore, maintain or improve your health and well-being. Based at Sherbourne Health, SOY is a collection of health and well-being programs and services for LGBT2SQ youth 29 years old and under. Over fifty per cent of youth they work with are newcomers. They provide you with goal planning and health and wellness programming through their Youth Resource Workers; mental health and primary care service providers; mentors and peers; dietitians and housing supports; urban and newcomer health services; and community partners and referrals. Through their Goal Planning Service (GPS), their Youth Resource Workers, and their health and well-being programs, they support your strengths and goals.See more
