The Match Foundation
Match Education is the shared brand name of Match Charter Public School, The Match Foundation, Inc., and The Sposato Graduate School of Education, Inc.
Match Education is an engine of discovery and applied innovation in education. They operate high-performing urban public charter schools, a unique graduate school of education that trains teachers for high-poverty schools, and out of this applied work, they refine, validate empirically, and disseminate new ideas and practices on core questions in education reform.
Their entities, using the Match Education shared brand name, focus on the following areas of work:
Match Schools: Match Public Charter School is a high-performing, innovative charter public school in Boston, serving students from PreK to 12th grade on multiple campuses across the city. The school is widely recognized for its ability to prepare students academically for college success.*
Charles Sposato Graduate School of Education: The Charles Sposato Graduate School of Education grants a Master’s in Effective Teaching (MET) degree. Their approach to training teachers is unconventional. It stresses long hours, highly directed coaching from master educators, and repetitive practice of basic teaching and classroom management techniques. The most recognized charter schools in the country hire our graduates and pay to train them.
Match Export: Match Export is their vehicle for sharing the inventions we develop in their applied work. They publish what they learn in a broad range of outlets, from academic journals to the popular press, and they increasingly partner with districts, graduates schools of education, and policy makers nationally who are interested in replicating their work and learning from their applied research. They are currently exploring new ways to disseminate their knowledge virtually to ever-growing audiences.See more
