Mission: In support of Tulane University’s mission, the Center for Public Service engages the Tulane and broader communities by facilitating mutually-beneficial relationships and transformative teaching, learning, and research to address social challenges and foster responsible citizenship. Vision: CPS will inspire civic engagement through impactful community-minded inquiry, learning and service. CPS will position community issues as an integral part of university life. CPS will empower our constituents to engage differences and generate creative solutions for social challenges. CPS will attract the most engaged faculty, students, and staff to Tulane University. CPS will support Tulane’s efforts to value community-engaged scholarship as central to the University’s mission. CPS will help distinguish Tulane as a leader in community engaged scholarship among higher education institutions, shaping and modeling best practices in the field of community engagement.
