VISION Seek the type of development in the industry where the stories and voices of the historically marginalised can be heard and seen through innovative and professionally crafted productions. We hope to inspire, educate and facilitate change. MISSION Uhuru was the clarion call heard throughout Africa for many decades, announcing Africa’s independence and ability to work together, which we embrace as the identity due to the strength independent production brings to the Southern African and continental audio/visual medium. Uhuru Productions is committed to the principles of non-racialism and democracy. It is further committed to the role of film and television in the formation and reflection of national identity.Consistent with this it has implemented a policy of affirmative action and black empowerment, based on potential and ability, to redress the historical imbalances and social distortions of apartheid that they see reflected in the film and TV industry. The policy has been applied in recruitment, training, management and ownership.
