University of Nice Sophia Antipolis (UNS)

The Université Nice Sophia Antipolis (UNS) is a multi-disciplinary University. Founded in 1965, it has establishments throughout the Alpes Maritimes in Nice, Cannes, Menton and Grasse, and is a key player in the Sophia Antipolis technological cluster. Each year it welcomes over 25,000 students, of whom around 1,300 are doctorates and almost 20% from abroad, distributed throughout various campuses and training and research units (UFR). It has a staff of over 2,700: over 1,600 teachers, professors-researchers and tutors, and over 1,100 administrative staff (library staff, engineers, administrative and technical staff, service or health workers). Around 200 theses are defended each year in the UNS. The UNS has 12 main campuses, premises of 300,000 m², 9 faculties, 2 institutes and 2 schools. It has an overall budget of €237M. The Université Nice Sophia Antipolis is research-intensive. With its 47 labs associated with the big research institutions (CNRS, INSERM, INRIA, INRA, CRD, OCA), it is ranked among the world’s top 3% of universities (Shanghai Ranking). The UNS is multidisciplinary: it offers more than 275 courses of study (not counting the health sector) and five main areas of education: Law, Economics, Management Arts, Letters, Languages Human and Social Sciences Science, Technology, Health Care Science and Technology of Physical Activity and Sports The UNS is very international. We are open to the world, with more than 5,000 foreign students (19.5% of all registered students; the national average is 12%), and more than 130 nationalities represented. The UNS has signed more than 500 international agreements with institutions on every continent.
