The hills of Oplenac have long been used by people to grow vines. The place from which the Aleksandrović winery originates, has its roots, and above all its name, from the distant past. In the Roman times of Vince, in the Middle Ages Vinica, and today Vinca - is a direct association with what the population of this place has been dealing with since ancient times. At the beginning of the twentieth century, the Venčac Viticultural Cooperative was built in the vicinity of Vinča, followed by the vineyards and cellar of Kings Petar and Aleksandar Karađorđević, who spread the fame of Oplenac wines throughout Europe.
The Aleksandrović family, which has been engaged in viticulture and winemaking for more than a hundred years, has worked closely with winegrowers and winemakers of the king's cellars from the beginning, and was also among the founders of the Venčac Viticultural Cooperative. My great-grandfather Miloš Aleksandrović was one of the founders of the Wedding Viticultural Cooperative in 1903, and the family had 30,000 vines by the beginning of World War II. Grandfather Zivota and Aleksandar Aleksandrović continued the viticultural and winemaking tradition.See more
