WomanCare Global provides access to high-quality, innovative and affordable reproductive healthcare technologies for contraception, fertility and pregnancy management. Our mission is to expand the availability of these economically sustainable technologies in both public and private sectors through an established global supply chain reaching over 110 countries and growing, with particular focus on under-served markets in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
WomanCare Global recognizes the many challenges facing the distribution of healthcare technologies in under-served markets. All too often, pharmaceutical and device manufacturers decide not to invest in low resource settings, limiting product availability in much of the developing world. As a result, medical care options available to women are often extremely limited; decades can pass before innovations become available and when they do, prices are often prohibitive. Additionally, supply-chain gaps keep products from reaching healthcare facilities, providers, and the women they serve.
The statistics are staggering:
-215 million women have an unmet need for modern contraception
-Every day 1,000 women die of pregnancy-related complications
-Children who have lost their mothers are 10 times more likely to die prematurely
By identifying innovative reproductive healthcare technologies and utilizing our existing broad distribution channels, WomanCare Global promotes sustainable access to these critical products. We realize there are a multitude of technologies already in some markets; we believe we can make more progress from better distribution of existing technologies than through the development of new ones. WomanCare Global’s focus is to ensure that affordable, high-quality reproductive healthcare technologies are spread across the developing world to reach women in need.
-WomanCare Global protects product integrity by closely monitoring all aspects of the manufacturing, packaging and distribution of products and requiring that suppliers meet certain standards. WomanCare Global has regulatory and quality departments that assure adherence to regulatory requirements and global quality standards and all products produced for WomanCare Global are expected to comply with worldwide quality standards and regulatory requirements.
-WomanCare Global enables easy access to products by maintaining a comprehensive and disciplined channel of global distributors and professional detailers who are involved with product registration to end use integration. By effectively forecasting current demand, potential market growth and maintaining an appropriate inventory level for unforeseen anomalies, WomanCare Global promotes sustainable, reliable access to their reproductive health technologies.
-WomanCare Global makes products more affordable through significant discounts in all countries for the public sector and price ceilings in the private sector. Oftentimes our product offerings are 50 to 70 percent less expensive than large commercial pharmaceutical or medical device competitors. These reductions create affordable products for women who currently have no options.
What would happen if women got the contraception they wanted?
-Unplanned pregnancies would drop by over 70%
-150,000 maternal deaths would be avoided
-600,000 children would not lose their mothers
