ZIPAR is Zambia's leading economic research institutes and enjoys a strong reputation in the country and beyond on matters of economic policy. Operational since 2009, the Zambia Institute for Policy Analysis and Research ZIPAR was established by the Zambian Government with the support of the African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF).

ZIPAR is a think tank with a mandate to conduct research and analysis primarily, but not exclusively, for policy formulation, implementation and monitoring. The Institute conducts research and policy analysis in order to provide objective, credible and timely policy advice to support the policy process in Zambia.

ZIPAR also promotes policy dialogue between the Government and a wide range of stakeholders, facilitating an inclusive process in the planning and management of economic affairs. To leverage its work, ZIPAR engages in strategic collaborations with like-minded institutions, including academic institutions, policy analysis and research think tanks, the media and advocacy agencies. ZIPAR has key partnerships with both local and international organisations.

Key objectives:

• To produce research outputs that are timely and relevant to the economic and social governance of Zambia
• To become an established forum for debate, knowledge sharing, and learning that generates relevant and influential policy advocacy
• To increase and maintain high stakeholder interest in ZIPAR outputs
