Abubakar Abdul-Rahman is experienced in Digital Financial Service, Financial Inclusion, Agriculture, Business Development, Sales and Marketing, Research, Operations Management and Information Technology. He has led in the development of an overall mobile money strategy across a broad variety of markets in Ghana and drive its implementation in order to deliver the overall revenues, market share, competitiveness, and brand targets. He has provided strategic influence for product roadmaps based on resource availability, cross-team dependencies, and outstanding commitments on what it takes to deliver on various projects. He has also provided support to mobile network operators, banks, micro-finance institutions, and other third party providers to improve and grow distribution channels, particularly through agents. Mr. Abdul-Rahman was part of the team that developed Tigo Cash Business in Ghana. Was part of the team that won the Best Marketing Campaign, Best Mobile Money Product in 2012 in Ghana as well as the Best Mobile Money Deployment, Best Mobile Money service in 2013 in Ghana. Also an award winning employee in Mobile Financial Service - MFS. He has worked for clients including USAID, FHI 360, RAFIP/IFAD, Tanager (Acdi Voca), Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning (MOFEP) and Helix Institute of Digital Finance. He previously worked for Millicom Ghana (Tigo Cash), Ernst and Young Ghana and the Innovation for Poverty Action (IPA). He is a Certified Risk Associate (CRA), Certificate in Operationalizing Mobile Money, Certificate in Gender and Environment, Diploma in Arts from University of Ghana, and Business Economics Diploma from Stonebridge Associated College and Masters in Business Administration from IMF Business School and Camilo Jose Cela University.
