Having worked within the Civil Society Sector and Local Governance in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region for two decades, I have a wealth of experience regarding capacity building and providing professional and technical advice to a variety of different organisational, technical and institutional related fields.
I am a professional experience in Local Governance and Democracy, Public Policy formulation, Conflict Resolution and Peacebuilding, Counter Violence Extremisms (CVE), Women inclusion fields, also, managing multi-donors and multi partners programs in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
Many of his professional roles, having been senior positions, and have required him to create, review and execute various capacity building and programme development strategies for implementation related to multiple projects and programs on provincial and governorate level. In such instances, He has often been solely responsible for ensuring that such strategies and plans are executed to a high standard, are implemented per the funding organisations timeline, and are inclusive of its activities.
Alongside, I also feature as a trainer and capacity building advisor within many projects and programs in the MENA region. Much of the training and capacity building I developed and implemented are tailored based on the participants needs assessment and participatory community-based methods of training, research and evaluation missions. As such, he has well versed in the techniques of PRA (Participatory Rapid Appraisal), community needs assessment and institutional assessment all of which ensure that any planned activity will be relevant and helpful in resolving the issues at hand.
Furthermore, many of my professional positions werehave been located within hostile environments, such as the West Bank and Gaza, Syria (based in Turkey), Iraq, Lebanon, Tunisia, Egypt, Bosnia, Libya, and Yemen; in which ethnic and religious tension is rife and the overall situation delicate. As such, he is familiar with and accustomed to working in such demanding and intense conditions. Where there is tension between different ethnic, religious or organisational groups, it has been his priority to act as a facilitator, bridging the gap to enable dialogue and planning for a solution. Such strategy is also necessary for bringing together Local and Provincial Councils, Civil Society, social groups, political parties, powerful groups and government agencies, as this is where there tends to be a lack of communication and misunderstanding which merely enables the demanding situation at hand.
I have experience in coalition and consensus building with government officials, media professionals, religious leaders and key informants. Appreciative to ethnic and cultural diversification and have strong interpersonal communication and writing skills.
