Dr. Eissa holds PhD in Agricultural Economics, university of Khartoum since 2010 with total work experience of 19 years’ experience in broad area of Agriculture Economics once as academician at universities in east Africa region (Sudan, Kenya, and Ethiopia) and Researcher in Agriculture Research Corporation in Economics and agricultural policies research center.
I also serve as consultant for the international federation of Red Crescent and Red Cross in area of disaster preparedness and food security. I have carried out the disaster risk preparedness and mitigation training programme in five states in Sudan (south Sudan and Sudan) and conducted vulnerability and capacity assessment and training to local communities in five states in Sudan during 2005-2008.
My contribution goes beyond the academia , currently I serve as focal point for many regional and international programme including South- South triangular cooperation of united nation, Agribusiness project for Africa Network for agroforestry, agriculture and natural resources education since 2012, focal person for circle programme for Africa Academy of Sciences and Association of commonwealth Universities and UKAID since 2014 and focal point for regional universities forum for capacity building in Africa (RUFORUM).
As coordinator for regional activities I was the focal point for Regional Universities Forum for capacity building in Agriculture (RUFORUM) and focal point for Africa Network for Agroforestry, Agriculture and Natural Resources Education (ANAFE) and campaign for CIRCLE project of the Association of Commonwealth Universities and Africa Academy of Science and serve as coordinator of agribusiness project support by ANAFE Sweden government during 2012-2014.
I serve as manager of agribusiness project activities implementation in Kordofan University, we executed many activities with the project including training of staff in agribusiness, agribusiness curricula development within the department of agriculture Economics, student’s internship with private sector, scholarship allotment, and agricultural companies profile survey. I also attended within the program many regional workshops including the result based framework, monitoring and evaluation meetings and Agribusiness fair
As researcher I have very good experience in Econometrics and economic modeling and data analysis using different computer programs software including Microsoft and SPSS. My research experience works covering research on disaster risk reduction and climate change effects (flood and drought) on livelihoods , value chain analysis (sesame value chain, groundnut value chain, sheep value chain, camel value chain) poverty, food security, disaster risk reduction, gender and food security, production economics, marketing and agribusiness.
As researcher I have very good experience in Econometrics and economic modeling and data analysis using different computer programs software including Microsoft and SPSS. I supervise many research work on areas of food security, marketing and value chain, livelihood security, poverty, climate change, disaster risk analysis and gender.
In My position as policy advisor in the ministry of Agriculture and Forest in the minister office I conducted many policy brief including land governance, climate change and experience sharing among South –South Countries in Africa and marketing and trade policies for oilseed sector in Sudan in addition to the participation in development of ministry strategic and annual plans.
And as executive manager for the ministerial office and coordinator for several programs and projects at regional level I gain good experience in working with inter-governmental and non-governmental entities as well as multi-disciplinary teams. In this regard I served secretariat for IDDRSI National Ministerial committee of national platform for Sudan taking minutes for ministers meeting and reporting to IDDRSI national coordinator.
