Manager Antiretroviral Therapy (ART)



Mr. Allan Zulu has over 20 years work experience working in HIV/AIDS management arena as Clinical Officer at Health Facility level rising to United Nations Volunteer Specialist before taking up the role of ART Programme Officer, Senior ART Programme Officer, ART Coordinator and Manager Health Programmes at Churches Health Association of Zambia (CHAZ). At Health Facility level he worked with UNDP as a United Nations Volunteer Specialist under a Community Oriented HIV/AIDS prevention care and support project, working close with communities in Home Based Care (HBC), Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) and Income Generating Activities (IGA). While at district level, he supervised and mentored health professionals in health facilities in HIV/AIDS management. He also worked with Zambia University of Alabama HIV Research Project (ZUHRP) and Center for Infectious Disease Research in Zambia (CIDRZ) as a research Clinical Officer. Allan Zulu was influential in the design and formulation of a project support document for UNDPs’ support to multi-sectoral HIV/AIDS district response initiatives in Zambia. He is keen on Administrative work directed towards project management and has interest in community oriented health, development programs and HIV management. He has fine expertise in project planning and management including monitoring and evaluation and implementation. In his tenure as A Senior ART Programme Officer at CHAZ, he managed to coordinate the implementation of USD 67 million ART program under Global Fund in sixty (60) health facilities for three years. This included assessing the capacity of health facilities and working on identified gaps which included refurbishment and renovation works, training health workers in HIV management throughout the country to facilitate the provision of Antiretroviral Therapy (ART), HIV Testing Services (HTS) and HIV Clinical Care including community involvement. Mr. Zulu is currently working as a Manager Antiretroviral Therapy (ART) at CHAZ and also served for a year as Health Programs Manager. Mr. Zulu holds a Diploma in Clinical Medical Sciences, a Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Master of Science and Master of Art Development Studies. He is a third year reader in Ph.D. Public Health with Texila American University Guyana.
