I bring a combination of engineering, business, and climate change/energy law to my work as a Climate Change & Development Consultant. I am driven by a passion for governance and sustainability. I directed the training and network development of an international climate change policy project designed to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions coming from tropical deforestation in Brazil, Mexico, Peru, Indonesia, India and the West/Central African region. I am inspired by efforts to change the energy systems that contribute to climate change, including the ways that we think about rural livelihoods and markets/commodities.
My legal background includes state and federal judicial fellowships. In international policy, I worked as a Policy Analyst for the Center for Energy and Environmental Security, leading the drafting of model laws for clean cookstoves for the energy poor. My research and publications include land reform, climate change, procedural human rights under international law and environmental ethics and philosophy. Originally from Zimbabwe and Swaziland, having spent my entire adult life so far in the United States, and now based in Bali, Indonesia, I am a citizen of the world.
