Andile Kwakweni has worked for 20 years as a people empowerment and performance enhancement specialist in private, public and community environments—including Old Mutual, Education, Local Government, PBO and NGOs in Cape Town and East London. The roles in the different sectors were vastly different but all link back to development and change, at both individual and organizational levels.
The experience he gained during the time in Cape Town strengthened Andile’s abilities to make even more meaningful contribution to the South African society when he moved to East London to start working for Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality (BCMM). During his time in two offices—namely, Knowledge Management and Performance Management he initiated several change projects (including establishment of learning communities and a forum for performance champions) to facilitate employee development towards performance improvement and promotion of cooperation among interrelated functions. His name became synonymous to institutional performance enhancement through personal development and collaboration.
In starting his own consultancy in February 2016, Andile had a vision to offer services related to people empowerment for organizational wellness to the development sectors.
Andile worked as an Associate Coach and Facilitator with various organisations—namely, SEED Trust, InSA for Inclusivity, ProEthics, NKA Management Services, Corporate Business Management and IMBADU—OHSE.
Apart from the work referred to above, Andile continues to be involved in safety management consultancy. Also, he works with in-school youth around the Eastern and Western Cape, with specific focus on personal development and economic change, linking to wellness and career advancement.
