Long track record of projects/program management and coordination, as well as team management and planning as head of mission/team leader. Proven experience in Policy development, Strategic planning and Programme design including preparation and formulation of RRA/PRA processes and Plans of Action with project profiles. Highly experienced in interacting and supporting high-level officials in strategy and policy development. In-depth understanding of processes and challenges in food and nutrition security. Good understanding of nutrition-sensitive approaches and skills in qualitative assessment techniques. Worked previously in nutrition policy and programming. Specialist in policies and programs designed to reduce poverty and vulnerability by diminishing people's exposure to risks, and enhancing their capacity to manage economic and social risks. Knowledge of resource partner development cooperation policies and processes in developing countries. Good knowledge of international development partners and financial institutions, such as FAO, WFP, UNDP, USAID. Familiar with EU policies, guidance, action plans and decisions regarding the EU agenda for change, resilience; food and nutrition security; maternal and child; and social protection for inclusive development. Familiar with EU thematic programmes. Good track record in the provision of both humanitarian transfer social security interventions (intended principally to save lives in the short term in circumstances where due to inadequate food consumption, compromised livelihoods or extreme coping strategies, excessive mortality or emergency rates of malnutrition are exceeded or anticipated) and social transfer / safety net schemes to tackle long-term chronic structural food insecurity and protect and improve the food consumption and productive potential of vulnerable households. Seasoned multi-sector coordination experience in development cooperation, and joint efforts concerning multi stakeholders (public sector, NGOs, CSOs etc.) in public sector organizational development, institutional capacity development improving capabilities and capacity of mechanisms (e.g. delivering social transfers and safety nets inter alia) to reinforce resilience to food crises and food insecurity, support agricultural growth and sustainable agriculture, and improve nutrition.
