I recently spent three years in Zambia as a Peace Corps Volunteer. During the first two years, I taught English and implemented secondary projects geared at gender equality, HIV/AIDS and other health related education in rural Northwest Province. I also spent one year in Lusaka working as a communications adviser on a USAID Project called STEP-Up Zambia. Since then I have been working towards an MSc in International Development. I've taken courses covering a variety of subjects including displacement, Political Islam, transitional justice, African governance and poverty, and development theories.
