Mr. Azizullah Baig is an experienced team leader of complex development projects in cross-cultural and geographical environments in South Asia and West Africa. He has extensive experience of providing technical assistance, grants management, and training on programs designed to enhance agricultural productivity, infrastructure development, civic engagement, civil society advocacy, as well as local organizations capacity building, and improvements in facilitating long-term development. His vast experience also includes designing and implementing multi-million-dollar projects in complex environments in various sectors including, agriculture, health, education, public and private sector, infrastructure development, market & enterprise development, women economic empowerment and relief and rehabilitation programs. Overall, Mr. Baig has more than 18 years of international development experience with a focus on engaging and empowering citizens through enhanced public awareness of citizen rights and responsibilities, actively incorporating gender awareness, equality, and equity into program/project designs, and hands-on activities with local organizations, private sector, and government authorities. Mr. Baig’s international development career has included working in various capacities, with progressively higher levels of responsibility and authority, including Director, National Advisor, Senior/Regional Manager and National Coordinator for programs funded by USAID, World Bank, Asian Development Bank, Royal Norwegian Embassy, DFID, Department of Foreign Aid and Trade, Canada and Australia. Mr. Baig has over a decade long experience in design and implementation of monitoring and evaluation systems and tools; he has designed and conducted baseline/progress review surveys using mobile phones/tablets and other ICT Tools; he has developed and submitted donor reports, key project documents like log-frames, performance measurement framework, monitoring and reporting formats, budgets and work-plans. Mr. Baig has also organized various international conferences and other events involving key stakeholders highlighting key development issues, like the rule of law, women in development, climate change adaptation, early childhood development, governance and legislation. He has also initiated e-newsletters, databases and websites, disseminating project successes and lessons learnt for replication. Mr. Baig holds a master’s degree in Development Studies from the University of Manchester UK, Executive Education Certificate in Leadership from Harvard Kennedy School USA and an MBA in Management from University of Management and Technology, Lahore Pakistan. Mr. Baig is dedicated to implementing programs in an ethical manner.
