I am a medical epidemiologist with skills in epidemiological methods, quantitive data analysis, research ethics and scientific writing. I prefer to work in the non-profit/NGO sector, doing applied research in resource-limited settings. My main interests are operational research, international health, health research ethics, and mentoring junior researchers. My main focus area is HIV. I have research experience using a wide range of methods and study designs including operational/implementation research, descriptive studies (cross-sectional, case-control and cohort designs), diagnostic accuracy studies, clinical trials, and mixed-methods (quantitative & qualitative combined) studies. I have served on research ethics committees/ IRBs in the United States and South Africa, and have writing experience with funding proposals, research protocols, and applications for ethics approval of research.
