As the Anti -Trafficking Outreach Coordinator for the International Rescue Committee in Seattle, I manage the IRC Seattle’s statewide initiative to providing outreach and education on human trafficking in order to identify and
refer victims of human trafficking for services. IRC Seattle is the lead agency, working in cooperation with two other agencies to conduct outreach and trainings, provide subject matter expertise to regional taskforces, identify victims, and increase the capacity to serve victims and survivors of human trafficking in Washington State.
My career has and continues to focus on human rights. I have extensive experience working in Thailand with Thai and Burmese organizations focusing on migrant laborer rights, anti-trafficking in the seafood processing industry, and exposing human rights abuses in Myanmar/Burma while working as an editor and researcher for the Human Rights Foundation of Monland and the Independent Mon News Agency.
In the past two years, I have focused my study of human rights on reproductive health and family planning at the University of California, Berkeley, during which I conducted a summer internship in Kibera and developed a family planning program at a Water Center and also focused my master's thesis on integrating family planning and livelihoods in the Sahel.
