7 years of experience in project management activities executing donor funded projects implemented in Kenya, Mozambique and Tanzania by governmental agencies within a range of sectors, where in Kenya and Mozambique I achieved the completion of a National Cotton Classification project under Common Fund for Commodities (C.F.C), with a specific focus on improving cotton classing activities from manual to machine classing improving cotton classing accuracy and quality in the aforementioned countries (2013 – 14). Had an opportunity to successfully complete another donor funded project under Marketing Infrastructure Value Addition and Rural Finance (MIVARF) funded by International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and African Development Bank (AfDB) which focused on improving access to financial and marketing services for the rural economically active poor producers emphasizing on financial and commercial viability and sustainability enhancing the income and food security of the target group through access of poor rural households to broad range of financial services, coupled with the necessary capacity building and linkages to potential markets. These projects have given me an opportunity to work in different capacities and I have gained experience both in the local and East African environment with a focus on unlocking untapped avenues. In the project span different segments were achieved including conduction of cost - benefit analysis (desk review, stakeholders consultations through interviews and focus groups) to assess opportunities, impacts, constraints and risks related to sunflower production and value addition activities for both forward and backward linkages as well as project life cycle; participation in producer capacity building on value addition and different cross cutting issues. cross-practice team and provision of recommendations to inform decision makers; provision of technical support to ensure adoption and consistency of value addition and producer empowerment expected outcomes; facilitation of trainings in entrepreneurship and market analysis; support for Financial management and communication on good Agricultural practices, activities and results; support to actively engage and work closely with representatives of Governments, private sector, local stakeholders and communities to ensure commitment and sustainability. Sectors of experience are: project management, Business development, Monitoring and Evaluation, research, data collection and analysis, planning and budgeting and intensive report writing. With quite an experience within the telecom industry especially in the E-commerce division at Vodacom Tanzania, I have been one of the team members in Tanzania to drive the M-pesa usage to 1 million agents’ strategy for Vodacom Tanzania Ltd as a M-pesa Administrator and Product Operations Executive for two years. I was Part of the M-pesa research team involved on improvement of M-pesa usage research whose results upgraded M-pesa usage by up to 60%. My key motto is “Blending knowledge, technology, local manpower and financial access together – with a passion to see the struggling majority expand their economic horizons & gain loyalty through successful project achievements.
