Doaa has a bachelor’s degree in political science from the Faculty of Economic and Political Science - Cairo University, a Master’s degree in Development Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS)-University of London, and a graduate Fulbright Hubert Humphrey Fellowship in Economic Development from Michigan State University (2016 -2017). She has worked for the World Bank Group as a consultant from June to December 2017 on a project aims to promote women and youth economic Empowerment & entrepreneurship in Egypt, she has 10 years of experience as a research analyst and senior investment promotion officer in the Egyptian Ministry of Investment, the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones in Egypt (GAFI), and over six years of experience in research field and program management with regional and local non-governmental organizations. In her current position at GAFI, she promotes Egypt as a destination for foreign direct investment by identifying investors and support business development. Her academic and professional focus is entrepreneurship, microfinance, micro, small and medium enterprises, the social dimension of business and corporate social responsibility and their roles in combatting unemployment, empowering youth and the lives of people especially youth through innovative entrepreneurship.
