My career began in theatre and television lighting design and production management. I restarted my design practice after earning my law degree. These cross-disciplines have contoured my ability and success in leading teams that comprise of stakeholders, vendor partners and contractors alike over large geographical distances. Goals are met when every team member is aligned. User experience is like the middle children in families…most are ignored until something happens that calls attention to them at which point it is often a problem or crisis. Most users don’t think much about their experience until a problem occurs.  That’s the pain point that interests me. I want to contribute to interactions in a design solution that avoids crisis, one interaction at a time. I also have the benefit of learning UX best practices in the UXDI program at General Assembly. It has prepared me to rigorously apply these principles to every stage in bringing a product live. I love designing interactions that deliver a great experience that leaves a lasting impression. I am a collaborative and creative team thinker with a discipline for applying user research to defining the IA problem before designing the solution. I understand the importance of failure and appreciate it as always the step toward a better design.
