Ekram E.

Egypt

Summary

I am a polyglot, cross-disciplinary professional, with a a multi-national, multi-cultural and multi-lingual background as a Libyan American raised in Europe and having worked in several Arab and African countries for 19 years. The bulk of my experience has been with the UN World Food Programme (WFP) for nearly 15 years although my roles have been diverse and included operations, logistics, programme (especially cash-based transfers), ICT, donor relations, communications, and reporting as part of core WFP and cluster operations. I have been posted in HQ as well as at regional bureau and country office levels in both regular activities and emergencies. Thanks to all this exposure, I have garnered very useful networks in across WFP as well as with various sister UN agencies, donors and partner NGOs. Since April 2017, I have taken on the role of Regional Programme Policy Adviser in the WFP Cairo Bureau. During 2013 and 2014 I was WFP’s Head of Programme in Lebanon as well as de-facto Deputy Country Director, and where I along with my team built one of WFP’s flagship e-card voucher programmes.
