I have been a Health Technical Specialist for 12 years who studied a Bachelor of Human Nutrition and Dietetics of Kyambogo University and a Masters of Public Health of the International Health Sciences University. I have a wide experience in various public health related program implementation under the Reproductive, Maternal Newborn and Child Health (RMNCH), Maternal, Infant and Young Child Nutrition (MIYCN), Health system’s strengthening at the Health facility and community levels, Public and clinical health Research, Documentation and Publications in scientific Journals. I have worked and supported Community mobilization and anthropology in clinical trial, mHealth in a prime-boost vaccination program, Standardized gap analysis of the expanded Program on immunization (EPI), Community Health Workers refreshers through the Mobile Training and Support Services (MOTS), Enabling technologies including the biometric identification and verification of participants, communication strategy development and pilots in clinical trials. Community Behavior Change communication (BCC) strategies through the Parent support groups (PSGs) for MNCH, the Community Led Total Sanitation (CLTS) for Water Hygiene and Sanitation (WASH), Stepping Stones methodology to prevent alcohol during Pregnancy. Strengthening community Health systems through the CHW-Assessment and improvement Matrix (AIM) Functionality, and implementation of the Timely and Targeted counselling (ttC) for the 1000 days (including pregnancy, and up to 2 years). The integrated Community Case Management (iCCM), community outreaches with an integrated approach (Anti natal care (ANC), Growth Monitoring Promotion (GMP), EPI, Post Natal Care (PNC), and the Integrated Management of Childhood Illness (IMCI)). Community base Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission (PMTCT), The Expanded prevention model for HIV for the youth in and out of school including the youth Friendly communities for Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH), and the Channels of Hope for MNCH Plus working with Faith leaders and their congregations. Information, Communication Technology for Development (ICT4D) in MNCH through MHealth platforms, CHW refresher trainings through the Radio Distance learning (RDL) Health system’s strengthening through the Health facility Services Availability and Readiness Assessments (SARA). The Community Committees (COMM) commonly known as the Health Unit Management Committees and supporting the Health facilities to implement routine GMP, EPI and Goal Oriented ANC. Capacity building and mentorship in the Basic and Comprehensive Emergency Neonatal and obstetric Care (B/EmNOC), Helping Babies breathe (HBB) Plus, Helping Mothers Survive (HMS), Health Timing and Spacing of Pregnancy. Population based Food and Nutrition Interventions (PBFNI), through the Integrated Management of Acute malnutrition (IMAM), The Baby Friendly Health Facility Initiatives (BFHI), Nutrition in HIV/AIDS, Micronutrient interventions, and Monitoring and Evaluation for MNCH programs as a contribution to the acceleration of Health Care specific Sustainable Development goals. I have been involved widely in the development, implementation and Monitoring of policies, policy guidelines, and operational frameworks, implementation action plans, project intervention plans, Project Monitoring Plans (PMP), advocacy and National Budget frameworks and reviews, national platforms for resource mobilisation in addition to implementation through the national health system structures.
