I have 28 years work experience in private sector and Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in Malawi. I worked in formal rural micro finance industry for 19 years and recently, in an informal micro finance industry in an International Non-Governmental Organization (CARE International - Malawi) for 9 years.
I have skills in developing training manuals and training of members of staff who in turn trained communities.
I can draft organization policies for presentation and consideration by Board of Directors.
I can coordinate projects that affect various stakeholders with different levels of members of staff without problem.
I have skills in managing contracts and sub-grant administration and management. I can set-up sub-grants arrangements with implementing partners.
I can set up small programs that can grow big within short period.
I also have skills in fundraising and have been involved in program designs and development of a number of successful proposals on food and nutrition security, emergency as well as micro finance programs..
I have skills in donor contract management and reporting - meeting set deadlines.
I have substantial knowledge of working with development partners (donors). The financial institutions I have worked for received financial assistance from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD); the World Bank; the African Development Bank; the Commonwealth Secretariat. I once managed a USD12 million microfinance IFAD funded project in Malawi (1995 to 2000). I can manage large donor portfolio without problems. Currently I am managing portfolio supported by USAID, European Union, DFID, Global Affairs Canada, and other private foundations. I have knowledge of managing various donor resources
