Geoffrey is an Infrastructure Resilience Specialist in UNOPS' Disaster Risk Reduction for Resilience (DRR4R) group within the Strategic Positioning team. With an engineering (Energy, Water, and Environment) and social sciences background, he has experience working on a number of sustainability and resilience focused projects in sub-Saharan Africa, East Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America. His work in delivering infrastructure in challenging environments started in 2008 when he designed and built a potable water system in China to serve an elementary school and a community of more than 300 people. That same year he started his own disaster relief organisation following the 2008 8.0 earthquake in Sichuan, China and completed three successful projects in the disaster zone. He has worked alongside governments, intergovernmental organisations, NGOs, and the private sector to deliver a wide range of sustainability and resilience projects. He is also part of the Arup team that developed the City Resilience Framework in partnership with The Rockefeller Foundation
