I am a communication professional with solid experience of over 30 years. I am currently working as Communication Expert on EU funded project in Swaziland after working as Communications Specialist on a World Bank funded project in Nigeria in August 2017. I also consulted for AECOM on an EU funded project in Pretoria, South Africa after working for Particip GmbH where I developed a communication and visibility strategy for the Malawi Ministry of Education on Improving Secondary Education project funded by the EU.
I have also worked as a Communication Consultant to develop a communication strategy for the “Maldives Pension Retirement Scheme” funded by the World Bank in 2015. I have worked as a Communications Advisor for Sayara International in Afghanistan where I developed communication strategies including internal, external and crisis communication strategies for the Ministry of Counter Narcotics. Prior to this role I was Communication and Outreach Advisor at the Ministry of Commerce and Industries in Afghanistan under the USAID funded Civilian Technical Assistance Programme. I developed and implemented a communication strategy to raise awareness about competition and consumer protection laws, and built capacity of the local communication staff. I was with the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) as Media and Public Relations Advisor in Liberia on a USAID funded project to support the National Elections Commission to build capacity of the communication staff and local media to improve public information dissemination. I have worked for AU-IBAR in Kenya as Communication Expert on the EU funded project to support control of animal diseases for the livestock farmers in Africa after my assignment in Malawi with the Local Development Fund as Development Communications Manager where I was involved in local governance support programme funded by the World Bank. I also worked for UNDP in Pakistan where I raised its profile and enhanced its visibility through writing success stories about its response to the 2005 earthquake and raising public awareness. I have advocated and campaigned for women’s empowerment and gender equality for the UN Development Fund for Women in East Timor.
I have written reports, press releases, media advisories and developed communication products such as brochures, posters, fact sheets, op-eds etc. I have also organized media events such as press conferences, and media field visits. I have developed and cultivated relationships with various stakeholders including government, the civil society, religious leaders, media and donors.
