I am an economist by training and completed my doctoral thesis in Environment and Development Studies in 2015. It focused on understanding the role of social policy with respect to climate change adaptation in rural India. Presently, I am a postdoctoral fellow working on climate and development issues with a focus on urban governance and adaptation. The research is undertaken under the Norwegian Research Council funded project 'Climate change, Uncertainty and Transformation', and I work closely in association with partners in Norway (NIVA), in the UK (IDS Sussex) and India (IIT-Bombay). My research interests encompass a variety of interdisciplinary themes that include science-policy interphase, adaptation policy, urban planning as well as rural and tribal development issues.
