Profile: Twenty-two years of broad experience leading and managing multidisciplinary, multicultural teams in high profile environments and conducting research and providing technical and business support to growers, agribusiness groups, and government institutions. Studied the impact of effective and adoptable sustainable technologies on farmers and the agricultural industry. Dr.Sanchez led research on communities’ livelihoods and resilience in responding to unexpected crises, including land tenure issues created by conflicts and political decisions,the integration of women in decision-making positions, and the application of remote sensing technologies in agriculture. This experience is reinforced by annual continuous education, the bi-annual certification as Crop Advisor # 34269, precision agriculture, and the FAA authorization 4102210 to fly fixed-wing UAVs/RC planes with specialized sensors. Over the last thirteen years, recognition and satisfaction continued to grow with his ability to lead unbiased, results-based evaluations involving the collection and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data using mixed assessment and analysis methods — reputation gained by the professionalism using SMART indicators (specific; measurable; achievable and attributable; realistic and relevant; timely and traceable), the development of detailed evaluation protocols and “performance management plans” with clear benchmarks, and his strong ethical and professional integrity. Dr. Sanchez’s additional professional and technical qualifications include the USAID certification gained in 12/2011 as a Contract Agreement Officer's Representative and Agreement Officer’s Representative COR/AOR. 12/2011, and training by the USAID in the Automated Directives System (ADS), Series 200 and Series 300. He has worked with trade interest and partnerships to formulate agribusiness responses to market demands for small- and medium-size farmers’ associations to accelerate growth by gaining competitive advantage and by expanding opportunities into new markets. Dr. Sanchez performs value-chain competitiveness analysis and enhancement for product development, seeking to maximize value-added. He bridges the gap between regulator environments, private business investments, special interests, and producers to drive efficiency and productivity: experience extends to cold chain, processing, packing, and branding, intended to improve profits of conventional, organic products, and non-traditional products. In addition, experience with postharvest losses control with good agribusiness practices, sound farm management, and financial decisions made promptly. His professional and technical qualifications are supplement by the BR&E certification as a consultant to coach communities on effective means of implementing the business retention and expansion program. – Business planning, visitation, surveys, interviews, town meetings. 01/23/2014, and the successful completion of the NIH Web-based training course "Protecting Human Research Participants" from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Office of Extramural Research. 2259055 - 12/21/2016. In addition, and equally important, he has eleven years of experience leading applied research in agroforestry and renewable natural resources management systems in which native species are domesticated to substitute the need for external inputs (fertilizers, pesticides, feedstuffs, fuels) to support the livelihood of stakeholders living on fragile ecosystems, and to promote interest in organic production and certification.
