Irfan Rahman S.

Volunteer, Teacher, Engineer

Bachelor's Degree

As a native Chittagonian, I feel the necessity to extend my support towards the influx of Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh. I want to utilize my specialty as an Engineer to be able to coordinate and manage the Water, Sanitation and hygiene programs in the refugee camp to reduce the spread of preventable waterborne diseases. My Engineering skills as a Mechanical Engineer at construction sites can also be utilized for distribution of non-food items and creating shelters for the incoming refugees. While working as a non-medical volunteer in a free hernia surgery camp organized by Hernia International Australia in Nurture General Hospital, I developed the skills to manage and monitor all procurements and logistical arrangements necessary for operation theatre during surgery. I supported the incoming patients before and after their surgery by distributing them all the items necessary for their healthy recovery.
