Mrs. Jackie Yiptong-Avila is a Senior International Consultant with a multi-disciplinary background and over 35 years of experience in Haiti, Western Africa, the Middle East and Canada. She has extensive experience as a Team Leader in evaluating Food Security and Value Chains in Agriculture Programs funded by the USAID and USDA Feed the Future and Feed for Progress initiatives. For UNDP, she has evaluated Women Empowerment through micro-enterprises and micro financing. In the Middle East, she has led and conducted the evaluation of UNFPA interventions that bring awareness and knowledge on Gender based Violence and Reproductive Health in the Syrian Refugee Za’atari Camp Youth Center located in Jordan. Jackie has been a faculty member of the World Bank's International Program for Development Evaluation Training (IPDET). She provides training in Monitoring and Evaluation; Result Based and Performance Management as well as Survey Methodology and Sampling to non-statisticians. She is proficient in French, English, Spanish and Mauritian Creole.
Prior to consulting internationally, Jackie had a long career at Statistics Canada where she was a Program Manager and a Senior Survey Methodologist designing household, business and social surveys in various sectors including education, labour and employment, children and youth; aboriginal affairs in Canada; maternal health; transportation, environment, agriculture and tourism.
