Italian-born photographer and documentary filmmaker based between Turin and Beirut, Jean-Claude has worked in recent years with many international NGOs, including Unicef Lebanon, AVSI Italia, CTM Onlus and Ala Milano. His projects are always linked to social issues, distressed people and urban areas on the edge of cities. He has been deeply tied for almost three years to the issue of Syrian refugees, especially in Lebanon and the Middle East, with a special focus on children, the first victims of any conflict. His photographs have won important international awards as the special mention at MIFA (Moscow International FotoAwards) for two consecutive years in 2015 and 2016, honorable mention at IPA 2016 “Family of Man” (International Photography Awards) and another mention at the IPOTY 2016 (International Photographer Of The Year). In 2017 he received an honourable mention at the FAPA 2017 (Fine Art Photography Awards) and is exhibited among the finalists at the Kolga Tbilisi Photo Award 2017 in Georgia and “YOUMANITY - The Everyday Heroine Photography Awards” in London. His reportage on Syrian refugees in Lebanon has also been shown in various locations in Italy and will soon be exhibited in Beirut and Washington DC in the World Bank HQ.
