Gender analyst and writer

Master's DegreeUniversity of Cape Town

South Africa

I have a decade of experience in research in the field of gender-based violence. This has included working with stakeholders in the South African parliament and executive branch of government, the local and international donor community, and civil society. I have published extensive media and opinion pieces on the topic. In addition, I was a contributing author to the guides for the South African parliament on mainstreaming the rights of vulnerable groups (women, children and persons with disabilities) and the guide on costing gender-based violence. I have also assisted the South African government in drafting plans to combat this issue with UNICEF in 2018. This work has entailed desktop research, data analysis, legal framework analysis, and interviewing. I have good experience in working remotely, conducting interviews and virtual meetings.
